'Floating Piers' Instillation Opens In Italy Posted on 21 Jun 14:09

Italy is officially home to one of the year's most talked-about art installations. Entitled 'The Floating Piers,' the instillation conceived by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, features 100,000 square meters of shimmering yellow fabric that wraps around a floating dock connected to various points on Italy’s Lake Iseo. The concept was initially formed by the artists in 1970, but denied permits halted its execution. Over 45 years later, the perfect location was finally scouted and an idea became reality. 'Floating Piers' opened on June 18th and will be open to the public for sixteen days.
